Color Challenge Done!

Here's the color challenge Lori set out...thanks to Jenn! Tee Hee! I used Glorious Green, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip. I embossed the whole rectangle with the quote. The quote says,"Good works are links that forms a chain of love" - Mother Teresa. I still have to do the inspiration challenge! I went and looked at Pottery Barn and couldn't get inspired. Yikes! Hope I get inspired soon...

Verse of the Day

"As a north wind brings rain, so a sly tongue brings angry looks." - Proverbs 25:23

This verse reminds me of my foster son, for I know when he says something "sly" I probably give him an angry look!

I wish I could put a picture of him up, cause he is a cute little feller, but alas I cannot!

And the group said,"It was good..."

Well, the meatballs were a success. So long as everyone was telling the truth...I thought they were pretty good, after I doctered them up some! I knew that the one can of tomatoes were not enough liquid! When I opened the crock pot after 4 hours alls I saw was grease as the liquid! I had to drain the meatballs and put in 2 jars of spaghetti sauce. It was good, but worth the fuss...don't think so! My baked spaghetti is a whole lot easier and just as good!

Thatsa lotta meataballs!!

First pan...the meatballs stuck!

Look what it left behind!

Ahhh! Much better

Thatsa whole lotta meataballs!

It's my first time making meatballs!! It's a crock pot recipe. Here's a deep thought...isn't the point of a crock pot to ease your worry about cooking? Well, I think it would have been easier and quicker with a different recipe. However, this recipe sounded good. It asked for 4lbs. of ground beef! The spaghetti sauce only asked for a 28oz. can of peeled tomatoes as the liquid, kinda scary. Your supposed to sear the meatballs, well, it stuck to my pan. Livid, I changed to a non-stick, much better. So after an hour or more, I got to put it in the crock pot. Hopefully, it turns out good, because I'm cooking for a group of people! Instead of meatballs, it may just be meat sauce! Tee Hee! Please Lord, let it be good!

Scrappin' my scrap....

It's alright...

Sisterhood of the Traveling Stamps

Tonight is usually our Sisterhood of the Traveling Stamps, but it was a long weekend...so we didn't meet. I thought I would be too tired, but after a couple hours of sleep I am refreshed! I'm missin' them! I really need to go hang out with my fellas, but find I don't want to. It didn't help that my "son" was aggravating today. He knew when we got home that he would have to study, since he put it off. He fought tooth and nail! I know if he just put his mind to it, he could get it over with, but noooo, he's wants to fight and try to get his way. I told him he had an opportunity to have fun tonight and he said "I don't care". So I said,"Fine you can stay in your room tonight then." Then all of a sudden he cared...I told him he had till 6pm to finish. He did get it done, but I don't want to spend time with him now. Yikes! Why can't I just let it go? Help me Lord! I need to find a verse...

" 'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God."- 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

Well, this speaks to me! I know he didn't mean he didn't care, so I choose life. Gonna go play now!

It's coming!

Fall is almost here...it's my favorite time of the year! I was doing my paper route last night, listening to some love songs from The Heart on XM, sound of leaves crunching under my tires...ahhhh, I love fall!

Verse of the Day

"This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and YOUR CHILDREN may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him." -Deuteronomy 30:19-20

Jill Savage

Wow! One word that sums up this weekend of Jill Savage. I was working on about 6 hours sleep in 48 hours and went to a Mother's conference at my church. It was well worth the lost sleep! My spirit is rejuvenated and received some real tokens! Thank you Jesus!

Here are some things that I learned:
The first 20 years of a persons life lays the foundation for the next 80 years. Hmmm...didn't know that, interesting.
Your home is a "safe house and trauma unit". Your kids need to feel that they can go home from the world and not get criticized, or teased, but just be loved. If something happens to them that is "traumatizing" helping them get thru it without wanting to rush their grief or disappointment is a must.
There was something fun she does (which I may implement) and it's called a "Surprise Ride". When everyone is at home, she says "Surprise Ride" and everyone has like 5 minutes to get in the car, where they go to some place fun, like putt-putt, bowling, or the park. It's important to remember to have fun with your kids! It seems like lately, all I do is ground and I hate it! It's not fun for him or us!
If there is a Y in the road, choose life! You have a choice to extend grace and forgiveness. There are many times I forget how imperfect we all are, but I am going to try and make a conscious decision to choose life! Believe me God is soooo good to me in that regard, oh and everything else!

Before Pics

TADA! It took many hours, but my main mission today was to clean my laundry/scrap room! And I did it! Nevermind the fact that there's more stuff to put back in, but I don't wanna! It's nice and neat. I just need to find a place for the other stuff. It's all junk anyway! Here's the before pics!

"This is the beginning...

"This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!" Of course, we'll see how long I last...I am a busy woman! What can I say? How about I miss my pup, Rocky. The picture of the pup with his nose in the blanket passed away at the beginning of this month. He suffered from heat stroke. He was somewhat of a punk, but I blamed it on him being a puppy. I miss his not barking from his crate when I come home. I miss the way he jumped up in the air to fetch a toy! He could jump as high as Mark's head! I miss the way he would bring a toy for you to throw every few seconds! I miss the way he would jingle the bells on the door knob to go outside...although he did abuse that sometimes. I just miss his presence. I am thankful that Mollie Joe is still alive! She really is a great dog! Maybe my next one will be how great Mollie is! Hope this wasn't too depressing for a first blog! But that's what I was thinking about...bye Rocky!
